AI Automation Engineer / Intelligent Automation Engineer

Location: Morristown, NJ — preferred Potential flexibility: St. Petersburg, FL About the Role We are looking for an AI Automation Engineer to design, build, and support intelligent automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience. This is a hybrid AI + RPA + Business Process Automation role. You will work across traditional Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and emerging AI technologies, including Generative AI, Agentic AI, Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), and Machine Learning . The ideal candidate is someone who understands business processes, can identify automation opportunities, and can turn those opportunities into practical, scalable technology solutions. What You'll Do Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for automation, AI enhancement, and process improvement . Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions using RPA platforms such as UiPath and AI services. Build intelligent workflows incorporating AI Agents, decision logic, and workflow orchestration . Develop and support Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions using OCR, document classification, data extraction, and validation. Translate business requirements into scalable automation and AI solutions. Partner with business and technology stakeholders throughout the solution lifecycle. Create solution designs, process maps, technical documentation, and operating procedures. Test, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize automation and AI solutions. Analyze process and model performance metrics and use those insights for continuous improvement. Provide ongoing production support and enhancements for existing automation and AI solutions. What We're Looking For Required 4+ years of experience in process analytics / business process analysis . Experience with or strong understanding of RPA and automation technologies , particularly UiPath . Understanding of AI technologies and current industry trends . Ability to analyze business processes and translate business requirements into technology solutions. Working knowledge of programming, SQL, and macros . Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Experience working with internal business and technology stakeholders. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office , including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio. High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. Preferred / Nice to Have Experience building AI/ML-powered automation or bots , particularly in banking or financial services. Experience with Agentic AI and AI workflow orchestration . Experience with LangGraph — a major plus. Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, AI assistants, or copilots . Hands-on experience with Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) . Knowledge of OCR, Computer Vision, document classification, and data extraction . Familiarity with Machine Learning concepts, model integration, or ML platforms . Experience integrating automation/AI solutions with enterprise platforms such as CRM, ServiceNow, or core banking systems . Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field. Banking or financial services experience.
