AI SME/AI Solutions Lead (SAP + Enterprise AI)

Role: AI SME/AI Solutions Lead (SAP + Enterprise AI) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced AI Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep SAP Order to Cash experience to identify, scale, and operationalize AI initiatives across Sales Order and Distribution processes. The selected individual will utilize their proven experience harnessing emerging AI technologies, including AI agents and generative AI solutions to build agents to drive efficiencies within the SD/OTC functional area. The ideal candidate will have a strong enterprise systems background, particularly within SAP ecosystems and SAP BTP, combined with hands-on exposure to modern AI platforms, automation technologies, and enterprise AI strategy. This person will act as a bridge between business stakeholders, IT leadership, and innovation teams to drive scalable AI adoption. They will be responsible for building agents that work within SAP to optimize processes such as Sales Order reliability, Availability to Promise, Transportation Management, and Invoice Reliability within an FDA Validated environment. Must Have Demonstrated experience building AI agents with leading technologies including Joule Strong background in SAP SD/OTC and its functional processes that they will be AI-enabling (sales order reliability, returns, supply chain, distribution, and invoice reliability) Experience working on the above within a Life Sciences environment Strong BTP Experience Project experiences working with SAP Business AI, Joule, BTP AI services, Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI, or similar enterprise AI platforms. Experience with AI-enabled workflow automation and agentic AI solutions. Understanding of enterprise data platforms, analytics, and cloud technologies. Key Responsibilities Serve as the AI SME supporting enterprise AI initiatives within an AI Acceleration Office/COE model. Partner with business and technology stakeholders to identify and prioritize AI use cases across - particularly within order to cash and distribution processes. Help define and scale enterprise AI strategies, governance models, and implementation roadmaps. Evaluate and recommend AI tools, platforms, and frameworks that align with business objectives and existing enterprise architecture. Leverage SAP ecosystem knowledge to identify opportunities for AI enablement within SAP SD/OTC landscapes, including S/4HANA and related enterprise applications. SD/OTC experience and preferably experience building AI agents to support sales order reliability including creation, pricing, and rebates; returns for medical devices; supply chain including availability to promise, supply chain including availability to promise, distribution including control tower, shipping, and transportation management, and invoice reliability Provide guidance around generative AI, AI agents, intelligent automation, copilots, and workflow orchestration capabilities. Collaborate with technical teams to support proof-of-concepts (POCs), pilots, and production-ready AI solutions. Assist in establishing AI best practices, operating models, and COE standards. Support change management, stakeholder alignment, and executive-level communication around AI transformation efforts. Stay current on emerging AI technologies, enterprise AI trends, and regulatory considerations relevant to the medical device industry. Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience within enterprise technology environments, including strong exposure to SAP ecosystems. Experience serving as an AI SME, AI strategist, innovation lead, or similar role supporting enterprise AI initiatives. Strong understanding of generative AI concepts, AI agents, LLMs, and intelligent automation technologies. Background working within life sciences vertical Deep SAP order to cash experience Experience collaborating with executive leadership, business stakeholders, and cross-functional technology teams. Ability to translate business problems into scalable AI-driven solutions. Familiarity with AI governance, data strategy, security, and enterprise adoption considerations. Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence leadership and business teams.
