Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Founding AI Architect/Engineer Location: Concord, CA 5 days a week ONSITE to start – will be hybrid after ramped up Salary: $200,000 - $225,000 Must Haves: 7+ years of software engineering experience building production applications Experience shipping AI/LLM-powered products used by real customers Strong experience with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) Experience building AI solutions using OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar model APIs Strong Python development experience Experience building data pipelines and data-driven applications Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (GCP azure as backup) Knowledge of AI agents, prompt engineering, and workflow automation Experience working with large, proprietary datasets Ability to design, develop, and deploy solutions end-to-end Plusses: Databricks or Snowflake Redshift and Athena Data Warehousing Predictive Analytics and Machine Learning SaaS Product Development AI Startup or AI Consulting experience Day-2-Day: A client in Concord, CA is looking for a AI Architect/ Engineer to join their team. Our client is hiring a founding AI Architect/Engineer to design and build the company's AI strategy, architecture, and product roadmap from the ground up. With over 15 years of proprietary fundraising data and no existing AI team or platform, this individual will be responsible for creating intelligent solutions that enhance fundraising campaigns, ticketing, sponsorships, advertising, donor engagement, and business insights. This is a highly technical role with approximately 70% hands-on development and 30% architecture and strategy. Designing everything from scratch Responsibilities Architect and build the company's AI strategy and technical foundation Develop AI-powered fundraising assistants and campaign creation tools Design and implement customer-facing and internal AI chatbots/copilots Build RAG solutions leveraging 15+ years of fundraising and customer data Develop AI agents and automated workflow solutions Design scalable data pipelines and AI-ready data architectures Establish evaluation frameworks, governance standards, and cost controls for AI solutions Partner directly with Product and Executive leadership on AI initiatives Deliver production-grade AI applications that improve customer outcomes and business efficiency Create predictive analytics and recommendation engines Show more Show less
