Forward Deployed AI Engineer Houston, TX | Onsite 5 days per week We’re hiring a hands-on Forward Deployed AI Engineer to join a growing AI team within a large global business. This role sits between engineering and commercial teams. You’ll work directly with business users to understand real workflows, identify high-value AI opportunities, design solutions, and take them from prototype through to production. You’ll also help shape the wider AI roadmap by feeding technical requirements, reusable patterns and lessons learned back into the core engineering team. What you’ll do Work directly with commercial and operational teams to understand workflows, constraints and priorities Translate business problems into technical requirements and practical AI solutions Build, integrate and deploy agentic AI applications Extend internal GenAI capabilities through integrations, data connectors, tool-calling and MCP-based workflows Apply techniques including LLMs, RAG, NLP, time-series forecasting and optimization Own delivery from prototype through production Communicate technical assumptions, trade-offs and limitations clearly to senior stakeholders Contribute to code reviews, experimentation, evaluation and engineering standards Help drive adoption of AI tools across the business What we’re looking for 3+ years of experience in AI engineering, machine learning, software engineering or data science Strong Python and software engineering fundamentals Hands-on experience with GenAI, LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows and tool use Experience with frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex or similar Experience deploying production AI systems Cloud experience, ideally AWS Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with non-technical stakeholders Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or a related quantitative field Strong curiosity around complex commercial decision-making problems Why join Build AI products used directly by commercial teams Work on high-impact, real-world problems Join an experienced and growing AI team Significant ownership from idea through production Flat, entrepreneurial environment Competitive salary and benefits Location: Houston, TX Working pattern: 5 days per week onsite Show more Show less
