Forward Deployed Engineer - AI Agents

Spectrum Search is partnering with a fast-growing global fintech company building the future of borderless, stablecoin-enabled finance. This is a high-impact engineering role for someone who wants to work at the frontier of AI agents, fintech infrastructure, and real-world financial operations. The company is building a proactive, intelligent agent that helps businesses manage financial workflows before issues arise. You will help take internal AI agent systems from early pilot stage into reliable, production-grade tools trusted with financial data, operational workflows, and sensitive PII. The Role As a Forward Deployed Engineer , you will sit close to product, engineering, and real operational users. Your work will involve building, deploying, and refining AI agent systems that solve practical problems across card operations, accounting automation, policy enablement, and finance operations. This is not a pure research role. You will be expected to ship robust systems, understand customer and business context, make pragmatic architecture decisions, and ensure that AI-driven workflows are reliable, observable, compliant, and economically viable. What You’ll Be Doing You will: Take AI agent products from internal pilot to production, improving reliability, observability, safety, and operational guardrails. Build agentic systems that work with real financial data and sensitive PII. Own trade-offs across latency, model selection, cost, scalability, and safety. Work closely with product and operational stakeholders to understand workflows and deploy solutions that create measurable value. Expand AI agent capabilities across card operations, accounting automation, policy enablement, and finance workflows. Evaluate new LLM models, agent frameworks, tools, and architectures, bringing the best ideas into production. Think like a product engineer: every system you build should improve adoption, reduce operational friction, and deliver clear business impact. Help shape how AI agents are deployed in a regulated fintech environment. What We’re Looking For You will likely bring: 8+ years of experience in backend, full-stack, or product-oriented software engineering. Strong proficiency in Python, or comparable depth in Java, Go, Rust, Node.js, or TypeScript. Experience designing APIs, distributed systems, scalable backend services, and production-grade architectures. Hands-on experience building AI agent systems beyond simple prompting. Strong understanding of LLMs, model behaviour, tool use, planning, reasoning, and agent execution patterns. The ability to evaluate frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, or similar tools, while knowing when to build from first principles. Familiarity with Model Context Protocol, agent-tool interoperability, or adjacent AI infrastructure concepts. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical decisions clearly to engineering, product, and business stakeholders. Ownership mindset, practical judgement, and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments. Nice to Have Experience in fintech, payments, financial services, or regulated environments. Familiarity with MLOps, AI deployment pipelines, observability, and evaluation tooling. Experience with multi-agent coordination, memory architectures, and complex tool-use systems. Prior exposure to systems handling financial data, compliance constraints, or PII. Experience working directly with customers, internal users, or operational teams in a forward-deployed capacity.
