Forward Deployed Engineer, AI

THE OPPORTUNITY We are building the Forward Deployment Engineer (FDE) team. These engineers work directly with clients to implement and deploy AI-powered solutions on Palantir Foundry. This role combines software engineering, data engineering, solution architecture, and client engagement. As an FDE, you will work closely with client stakeholders to understand their operations, solve complex data challenges, build applications, and deliver solutions that drive business outcomes. WHAT YOU WILL DO Technical Delivery & Engineering Lead end-to-end implementation of Palantir Foundry solutions from discovery through production deployment. Conduct technical discovery, identifying data sources, workflows, integrations, and business requirements. Design and build data pipelines, ontology structures, and workflow applications within Foundry. Develop custom applications using Workshop, Pipeline Builder, and related Foundry tools. Clean, transform, integrate, and operationalize complex datasets. Collaborate with engineering teams on architecture, code reviews, and deployment best practices. Utilize AI capabilities within Foundry, including AIP, to enhance client operations. Client Engagement Serve as the primary technical contact for client engagements. Lead workshops, architecture reviews, status updates, and technical discussions. Train client teams on maintaining and expanding deployed solutions. Identify risks, blockers, and opportunities throughout the implementation lifecycle. Product & Innovation Provide field feedback to product and engineering teams. Identify reusable solutions and accelerators that can be leveraged across clients. Contribute to deployment playbooks and implementation best practices. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Required 3+ years of software engineering experience in production environments. Strong Python development skills, particularly in data engineering and API integration. Advanced SQL skills for data transformation and troubleshooting. Experience deploying solutions in AWS and/or Azure. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience working directly with clients to deliver technical solutions. Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders. Ability to work independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments. Preferred Experience with Palantir Foundry, AIP, or similar enterprise data platforms. Financial services, mortgage, insurance, or regulated industry experience. Familiarity with AI/ML concepts including LLMs, RAG, and agentic workflows. Background in Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting, or Implementation Engineering. Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks.
