Machine Learning Engineer (Agentic AI / Developer Tools) Location: New York Full-Time Permanent Salary: Up to $160,000 (DOE) Total Comp: Equity, Bonus, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) and more An early-stage applied AI company building developer tools for safety-critical engineering teams is looking to grow its engineering team. They help technical teams use purpose-built AI to move faster on complex, high-stakes workflows, and are now scaling the ML function behind that product. As they grow, they are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to design and build the ML systems at the core of their product. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop machine learning systems and implement appropriate ML algorithms Conduct experiments, train and retrain models, and perform statistical analysis to optimise performance Work with messy, real world data: scraping, parsing, cleaning, and transforming it into usable training data Build and deploy scalable ML services on AWS Build with agentic AI frameworks such as RAG, LangChain, and MCP Collaborate closely with the product team to make ML feel native within a modern React based product Own problems end to end: spec solutions and ship without waiting for permission Ideal Profile: Strong proficiency in PyTorch and modern transformer based systems Solid ML foundations including recommender systems, embeddings, and foundation models, with the judgement to know when to keep it simple Production mindset, with experience shipping ML systems that run reliably in the real world Comfortable working across the stack, with awareness of how ML surfaces in a React based frontend.
