About the Role

The role You will be a W-2 employee of StopAHack assigned to support an enterprise Data & AI modernization program for a financial services client. This is a senior-level, hands-on individual contributor role responsible for designing secure, governed, and scalable data and artificial intelligence solutions across business lines including Life Insurance, Investments, Membership, and Charities . The role partners closely with business leaders, data analysts, data movement engineers, infrastructure teams, peer architects, Information Security, risk, compliance, legal, and vendors to modernize legacy platforms including mainframe and IBM DB2 into a cloud and AI-enabled ecosystem using Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Talend, Microsoft Copilot, Snowflake Cortex, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI Service , and enterprise large language models. What you will do Define and govern enterprise Data & AI architecture across legacy, cloud, and AI-native platforms. Architect hybrid data integration across mainframe, IBM DB2, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Talend , and event streaming environments. Design and deliver LLM and GenAI solutions using Snowflake Cortex, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI Service, Copilot Studio , and orchestration frameworks. Establish RAG, vector database, embedding , and retrieval strategies for enterprise research and analytics. Coordinate modernization of ETL, data movement, and Lakehouse architecture . Enable Snowflake governance , including RBAC, dynamic masking, row-level security, encryption , and secure data sharing. Support architectures aligned with financial services security, privacy, risk, and regulatory expectations. Partner with business, risk, compliance, legal, IT, Information Security, and vendors as the lead technical advisor. Produce clear architecture documentation, solution designs, standards, and implementation guidance. What you bring (must-have) 12+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, enterprise architecture, or related technical roles. 5+ years of financial services experience , preferably in life insurance, annuities, investments , or regulated financial environments. 3+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience , including Snowpark, Cortex, data sharing , or governance capabilities. 3+ years delivering production LLM / GenAI solutions , including RAG, agents, embeddings , or AI orchestration. Proven legacy-to-cloud migration experience involving IBM DB2 , mainframe, or equivalent enterprise relational systems. Experience with Talend , modern data integration, ETL modernization, and real-time ingestion patterns. Knowledge of relational, NoSQL, NewSQL, and vector/LLM databases, including PostgreSQL . Strong communication, documentation, stakeholder partnership, and technical leadership skills. Ability to work independently across multiple business, technical, compliance, and vendor stakeholders. Nice to have Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI Service, Copilot Studio , and Microsoft enterprise AI capabilities. Experience with Snowflake Cortex , Snowpark , and AI/ML workloads within Snowflake. Familiarity with SOX, NAIC, PIPEDA/GDPR, SEC/state insurance regulations , or similar regulated environments. Experience supporting enterprise data programs in insurance, annuities, investments , or member-based organizations. Experience designing Deep Research LLM , enterprise search, knowledge retrieval, or agentic AI platforms. Reporting and supervision Employer of record: StopAHack.com® Corporation . Preference for candidates located in Connecticut, New York, or New Jersey . Standard hours aligned to the client’s time zone and project needs.
