About the Role
Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Agentic AI Compensation: $200,000–$250,000 base + equity Location: Fully remote within the United States Travel: Up 25% for team collaboration Must be a US Citizen Join a unicorn start up building AI-powered workflow software for mission-critical government environments. The company is evolving its AI platform from conversational search into a proactive, agentic system that can automate complex customer workflows. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will build production LLM applications, agent workflows, and intelligent automation features that solve real user problems. This is a hands-on, zero-to-one role for someone who wants to ship robust AI products, not just prototypes. What You’ll Do Build production-grade agent workflows and LLM-powered features Implement tool use, function calling, retrieval, and orchestration patterns Connect AI capabilities into existing enterprise workflows Translate customer problems into scalable automation Own ambiguous projects from discovery through deployment Build evaluation, monitoring, and failure-handling systems What You’ll Bring Strong software and machine learning engineering fundamentals Experience building production ML or LLM applications Experience with agents, workflow automation, or tool-using AI systems Knowledge of RAG, orchestration, evaluation, and observability Strong ownership and comfort in fast-moving environments US citizenship Existing clearance, or willingness and eligibility to obtain one Willingness to travel approximately 25% Tech Stack Python OpenAI, Claude, or equivalent LLMs LangChain, LlamaIndex, or custom agent frameworks Retrieval-augmented generation Tool calling and structured outputs Backend APIs, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems Nice to Have Experience with coding agents or code-generation tools Background in government, defense, logistics, supply chain, or enterprise software Prior startup or high-ownership experience Why Join?
