Position Overview We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated AI Engineer to help drive experimentation and innovation within our AI Sandbox environment. This role focuses on rapidly exploring, validating, and reducing risk around emerging artificial intelligence technologies before they are adopted into production systems. The successful candidate will transform business concepts into viable proofs of concept, assess new AI tools and models, and provide actionable insights regarding scalability, business value, and implementation considerations. Key Responsibilities Build, test, and deploy AI-powered prototypes on accelerated timelines, covering a broad range of use cases such as intelligent document processing, conversational AI, autonomous agent workflows, content summarization, enterprise search, and predictive analytics. Research and assess emerging AI models, development frameworks, and platforms, including technologies such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, Azure AI Foundry, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Microsoft Copilot Studio. Manage and maintain a secure sandbox environment designed for experimentation, ensuring proper controls around data governance, user access, and operational costs. Establish evaluation methodologies, success metrics, benchmarks, and testing frameworks to measure the effectiveness of AI experiments. Deliver data-driven recommendations outlining solution performance, scalability considerations, projected costs, and potential risks. Capture and document findings, lessons learned, and best practices to support organizational understanding and adoption of AI technologies. Collaborate closely with Application Development and engineering teams to transition successful prototypes into scalable, production-ready solutions. Engage directly with business stakeholders to identify challenges, demonstrate AI capabilities, and uncover opportunities for innovation and process improvement. Support the organization's responsible AI initiatives by promoting best practices related to privacy, security, fairness, bias reduction, hallucination mitigation, and human oversight. Facilitate knowledge-sharing activities such as demonstrations, workshops, presentations, and educational sessions to improve AI awareness and literacy across the business. Monitor advancements in the AI ecosystem and share key insights gathered from industry research, vendor engagements, conferences, and developer communities. Adapt to evolving priorities and business needs, recognizing that responsibilities may expand or shift as the organization's AI initiatives mature. Qualifications & Experience Minimum of three (3) years of experience in software engineering, machine learning, or a related technical discipline, including at least one (1) year working directly with generative AI or large language model (LLM) technologies. Strong proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, vector databases, prompt engineering techniques, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures. Practical experience with one or more leading AI platforms, such as Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Foundry, OpenAI, Anthropic, or AWS Bedrock. Proven ability to rapidly develop functional prototypes and effectively communicate findings, outcomes, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between business objectives and technical solutions. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with AI agent frameworks, multi-agent systems, workflow orchestration, and tool-integration patterns. Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform AI Builder, or comparable low-code/no-code AI development platforms. Understanding of ML Ops and LLM Ops disciplines, including model evaluation, monitoring, observability, governance, and cost management. Demonstrated success in independently defining experiments and solutions when provided with broad business challenges rather than detailed technical requirements. Comfortable operating in dynamic environments where priorities and technologies evolve rapidly. Education Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field required. Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and relevant professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Why Join Us?
