Generative AI Architect

AI Architect Houston, TX Hybrid Fulltime Position Overview JBS builds and operates agentic AI systems for Fortune 500 energy and enterprise clients. We are expanding our AI practice and are seeking an AI Architect to lead the design and technical direction of complex agentic solutions across multiple active client engagements. This role combines architecture leadership, technical ownership, and client-facing advisory responsibilities . You will define scalable AI architectures, guide implementation teams, evaluate technologies and frameworks, and ensure successful delivery across multiple workstreams. While maintaining strong technical depth, your primary focus will be on designing robust systems, making architectural trade-offs, and providing strategic guidance. Clients expect both your technical expertise and your point of view. What You Will Do Lead architecture and technical design for agentic AI solutions across multiple client engagements. Design scalable and secure AI solutions using: Microsoft Copilot SDK (Copilot Studio, M365 extensibility, declarative agents) Azure AI Foundry Azure OpenAI services Define end-to-end agent orchestration patterns using frameworks such as: Google ADK LangGraph LangChain CrewAI Architect integrations between LLM platforms (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini) and enterprise systems including: APIs Databases Knowledge repositories Identity systems Business applications Establish standards and best practices for: Prompt engineering Evaluation frameworks Observability Governance Production reliability Guide engineering teams on architecture decisions and implementation approaches. Review client environments and technical documentation to provide architecture recommendations. Evaluate solution alternatives and communicate trade-offs to stakeholders. Present complex AI concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Identify scalability risks, performance bottlenecks, and operational challenges. Collaborate across multiple workstreams and ensure architecture consistency. Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience in software engineering, enterprise architecture, AI/ML engineering, or related technical leadership roles. Demonstrated experience designing and leading enterprise-scale AI or agentic system architectures. Strong hands-on experience with at least one agentic AI framework: Google ADK LangGraph LangChain CrewAI Equivalent frameworks Direct experience with Microsoft Copilot SDK and/or Azure AI Foundry. Strong understanding of: LLM architectures Tool-use patterns Function calling Prompt engineering AI system design principles Experience integrating AI systems with enterprise platforms including APIs, databases, authentication systems, and cloud services. Ability to independently evaluate technical requirements and provide clear recommendations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable presenting to directors, architects, and executive stakeholders. Self-directed with a strong sense of urgency and accountability. Comfortable operating in fast-paced and ambiguous environments. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Microsoft WorkIQ. Experience with Google ADK. Strong GCP ecosystem knowledge including Vertex AI. Experience in energy, utilities, or regulated industries. Prior consulting or embedded client engagement experience.
